As Seen at the World Series Team Roping Finale: Inside 4M Equine Ranch

From spin-the-wheel breeding deals to ByNose timing tech, Emily Beisel's NFR runs, and the Outriding the Devil premiere — 4M Equine Ranch did it all at Las Vegas.

Official Stallion Sponsor of the World Series Finale

4M Equine Ranch holds the title of official stallion sponsor of the World Series Team Roping Finale — one of the most prestigious events on the Western calendar. Their booth at South Point was one of the most active in the building, with something to offer every person who walked through.

The centerpiece: a spin-the-wheel promotion offering up to 30% off stallion breedings — exclusive to the World Series and offered nowhere else. For breeders planning their next foal crop, it was a rare and time-sensitive opportunity. A free breeding giveaway for all five stallions (Epic Leader, Traffic Guy, Shaunie Streaking Jet, and Epic Rockstar) ran alongside it.

Emily Beisel and Chewy Light Up the NFR

No story out of 4M's NFR week generated more excitement than Emily Beisel's runs aboard Chewy, a mare owned by 4M Equine Ranch. Three rounds. Two placings. A second-place finish on opening night that had the crowd on their feet.

Owner Darrell Martin described the moment: "She had their first night together. She got second place. And she did this leg lift — straight out of motocross, both hands on the reins, one leg completely behind her. She just knows that mare and loves her, and that mare loves her."

4M is celebrating every placing in real time. Every time Emily places aboard Chewy at the NFR, 4M gives away a free stallion breeding. Three have been given away so far. Come by the 4M booth to enter the drawing.

Epic Babies Dominating Across Disciplines

If there is a theme at the 2025 NFR beyond the runs themselves, it is the presence of Epic Leader and Traffic Guy offspring across multiple events — barrel racing, steer wrestling, and roping. The 4M bloodlines are showing up everywhere, and placing.

He Will Be Epic, ridden by Kassie Mowry, has earned multiple top placings. Sir Epic, out of a daughter of Epic, is placing at the NFR. Traffic Guy babies are excelling in roping. Both stallions are RIATA nominated and generating high demand from crossover breeders combining speed with cow-bred bloodlines.

As Martin put it: "We're seeing a lot of Epic babies rocking it in roping. And the Traffic Guy babies — they're eating that up. Doing it in multiple disciplines is very, very exciting."

ByNose — Transforming Rodeo Timing

One of the most significant industry developments coming out of 4M Equine Ranch has nothing to do with horses. ByNose — 4M's proprietary timing technology — is quietly beginning to transform how rodeo events are timed.

The technology uses a ten-laser system that captures the precise nose of the animal crossing the line, rather than relying on body sensors or human reaction time. In testing at the WPRA World Finals, ByNose found differences of up to a half second between its readings and those of existing timing systems. Half a second in a barrel race is the difference between 1D and 2D money.

ByNose Gen 2 now goes beyond barrel racing, with purpose-built attachments for team roping, breakaway roping, tie-down roping, rough stock events, and more. The WPRA has already embraced the program at circuit finals. The goal: ByNose at the NFR and at the World Series Team Roping, adding precision, fairness, and integrity to every timed event in rodeo.

Outriding the Devil — The World Premiere

The day before the World Series interview, 4M Equine Ranch co-produced the world premiere of Outriding the Devil at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas — during NFR week, in front of a packed theater. The film tells the story of Angela Ganter: Texas Rodeo Hall of Famer, world champion barrel racer, who lost her husband, was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer, and still raised her daughter Jackie to become WPRA Rookie of the Year — before coming back herself to compete at the highest level.

The story stretches all the way back to the 1800s, tracing the Ganter family's roots in Texas. Martin described it simply: "It's a story about grit, determination, not giving up. It goes all the way back to the 1800s. It's an inspiring story, and it's fun to watch."

The film will follow the rodeo circuit — Fort Worth, Houston, Cheyenne, and beyond — before moving to streaming. Lifetime has discussed a potential movie adaptation, and ABC has expressed interest in developing it as a mini-series.

Canines.org — Protecting Children in Schools

Sitting at the 4M booth at South Point is Bono — a highly trained K9 and the living symbol of Canines.org, a nonprofit co-chaired by Darrell Martin that places trained dogs in schools and with police officers at no cost.

In just over 12 years, Canines.org has given away more than 400 dogs, placed them in nearly every state, and their dogs have seized over $8 billion in narcotics off American streets. The program now extends to active shooter rapid response — placing dogs trained to detect gunpowder and lead SRO officers directly to a threat before a shooting escalates.

Martin is currently working with the Texas Legislature to make the program a requirement under the new Rapid Response bill — putting a dog in every school alongside an SRO officer statewide.

The Mission of 4M Equine Ranch

Darrell Martin did not grow up in the horse industry. His daughter asked to try horseback riding, and that became 4M Equine Ranch — a full stallion and breeding program, a therapy barn, and a major indoor arena in Decatur, Texas. His daughter is now in veterinary school at Cornell, then Texas A&M for her DVM.

Martin's mission is simple and visible in everything 4M does: "Our mission at 4M is that we want to help people achieve their dreams while pursuing our own. And I think we're starting to accomplish that. It's very fulfilling."

The spin-the-wheel deals. The free breeding giveaways. The entry fee sponsorships. The therapy barn. The film. The canines program. None of it is accidental. All of it is intentional.
